I, Chien-Hao Kuo, received my MFA degree from National Taiwan University of Arts. While majoring in drama directing and screenwriting in college, I got involved with the school acting project in my freshman year. I encountered lighting design experience and received my first lighting award, Golden Lion Award. Later on, my lighting journey has begun.
During my employment in National Theatre and Concert Hall from 2005 to 2014, I designed lights for various productions, such as Summer Jazz, Opera-Studio series, theater and dance programs, and worked with well-known directors and companies, such as American theatre director Robert Willson, Japanese director Suzuki Tadashi, Pina Bausch Dance Company, and Théâtre du Soleil. Also, I design for diverse events, such as TEDx Taipei, exhibition event, and etc.
Currently, I have transferred to National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) that is going to become the biggest performing arts venue in Asia. Along with its construction to be finished, I shall help the center to complete its stage lighting equipment installation, employee training, and technical data file creation for the preparation of its opening.
