Design Statement
The arrival is a graphic novel. The set surrounds the characters. A projection screen frame-shaped at the front and another projection screen on the back, allows the actors to move inside the multimedia projections.

Philippe Amand
Philippe Amand was born in 1965. He began his training as a director at the Theatre School in Mexico City. He also studied set and light design with Alejandro Luna. He has created around 130 set and lighting designs works for theatre, dance and opera.
He works regularly for the National Opera Company and the National Theatre Company. He has also designed for the Opera Philadelphia in the USA and for the Oviedo Opera in Spain. He has participated in various international festivals and has obtained several awards as director and set and light designer. As theatre consultant he has been adviser and designer of several venues.
In 2000 the National Council of Culture granted him with the distinction of National Creator of Art.
In 2005, he was honoured in Toronto, at the World Stage Design, with the gold medal for his lighting design work.
